		<description>The problem isn&#039;t the texting or calling, I think, but using the phones for other purposes, such as cheating and taking embarrassing pictures and spreading them around. Also, students with cell phones tend to be targets for theft, so, to prevent that, the phones are banned.

Probably, what may be needed is proper education on the use of cell phones in the classroom, but, unfortunately, there will always be one student who will use his/her phone for undesirable purposes.</description>
